Police Investigate Suspicious Death In Woodstock

Police are investigating a suspicious death after a body was found in Woodstock.

The Woodstock Police Service says on Wednesday around 3pm, emergency crews received a call requesting medical assistance in the area of Tecumseh St.  Police and EMS discovered the body and attempted life saving measures, which were unsuccessful. The death is currently being treated as suspicious.

The name, sex and age of the deceased person has not bee released.

The Woodstock Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch and the Forensic Investigations Branch are currently investigating. As well, the Waterloo police K9 unit has been contacted to assist with the investigation.

Woodstock police are asking the public to stay away from the area while investigators are at the scene.

More information is expected to be released as it becomes available.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
