LTC Bus Driver Charged In Fatal Crash

London police say the driver of an LTC bus that struck and killed a pedestrian has been charged with careless driving.

Deborah McGrath, 56, of Hamilton was walking across the Argyle Mall parking lot at Clarke Rd. and Whitney St. around 10.30pm Monday when she was hit by a city bus. She was rushed to hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Police say the bus was turning left into the parking lot from Clarke Rd. when it struck McGrath.

The bus driver, a 36-year-old London man, is charged.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and continue to ask anyone with information to call them at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
