Charges Laid In Crash That Injured Nine

Charges have been laid in connection with a crash south of Belmont that sent nine people, including six children, to hospital.

Elgin OPP say an eastbound car on Ron McNeil Line and a northbound van on Belmont Rd. collided in the intersection around 4:45pm on Saturday. Ron McNeil Line is controlled by a stop sign.

The car driver and four children inside were taken to hospital. A 7-year-old girl remains in hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

The van driver, one adult, and two children were also taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. They have all since been released.

The driver of the car, a 31-year-old Port Hope woman, has been charged with careless driving.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
