Arrest Made In April Shooting

London police have arrested one of two men wanted in connection with a downtown shooting that left another man in critical condition in the spring.

Police began investigating after a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound in a parking lot in the area of 198 John St. around 2:20am on April 29.

Samater Ali, 26, was arrested Friday. He is charged with aggravated assault, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and discharging a firearm with intent to wound/endanger life.

Police continue to search for 25-year-old William Dwayne MacDonald in relation to the shooting.

MacDonald is described as a white male, 6’ tall, 260 lbs, with black hair and green eyes.

Police warn anyone who spots MacDonald not to approach him but to call 911 immediately.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
