"A Beautiful, Kind, Caring Soul"

The family of Nathan Deslippe is describing the murdered 27-year-old as a beautiful, kind, caring soul who wanted to help and motivate people.

London police issued a written statement on behalf of the Deslippe family on Tuesday. In it, Deslippe's family says "we are so sad to have lost a young man who had so much potential and meant a lot to so many people. The posts to his Facebook page are overwhelming in describing the son that we love so much."

The statement goes on to recall Deslippe's love for family, friends, and his dog Gyzmo, as well as his passion for his work at Voices.com, MLD Solutions Inc., Yoga Shack, and his leadership businesses.

The brief statement ends by saying "Nathan Deslippe is a bright light that has been dimmed but will always be remembered.”

Deslippe was found dead inside an apartment at 323 Colborne St. shortly after 10am on Sunday. A day later William Joles, who was arrested at the scene, was charged with one count of second degree murder.

Joles is also charged with one count each of forcible confinement, assault, and uttering threats to case death against a second individual in a related event at the Colborne St. apartment.

Police have not released a cause of death but say an autopsy that began Monday is continuing.

Visitation for Deslippe will be held Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 9pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery. A funeral will take place at 10am Thursday at St. Peter's Basilica.

Investigators continue to appeal to anyone with information about this incident to call police at 519-661-5670 or CrimeStoppers 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
