21-Year-Old Killed In Dorchester House Fire Identified

Provincial police have released the name of a 21-year-old man killed in a house fire in Dorchester.

Ryan Parsons of Thames Centre was killed when a house at 151 Oakwood Dr. went up in flames around 6pm on Tuesday. Members of the Dorchester Volunteer Fire Department pulled a 19-year-old woman from the burning ranch-style home. She was taken to hospital where she remains in critical condition.

A 19-year-old man was able to escape the fire with only minor injuries. He was treated and released from hospital.

The Ontario Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze. Middlesex OPP and fire crews will remain in the area of Oakwood Dr. and Chittick Cres. until the investigation is completed.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
