Standoff Ends Without Incident

A standoff in southeast London is over, but police are still investigating after a weapons call led to the closure of Sanders St. and the evacuation of several homes.

Police were called to a home on Sanders St. just after 3am Friday after reports an armed man may have been barricaded inside.

The street was closed and neighbouring homes were evacuated.

But Constable Sandasha Bough of London police says the standoff ended before noon.

"We recieved additional information that the individual was not in the residence," said Constable Bough. "At that time, London police expanded the search and determined there was no longer a threat to public safety.'

Police are still investigating and have re-opened Sanders St.
