One Dead, Five Injured In Elgin County Crash

One man is dead and five other people have been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash east of St. Thomas.

Elgin OPP say on Sunday around 8:37pm, a black Honda motorcycle traveling north and a blue Chrysler van heading west, collided in the intersection Richmond Rd. and Vienna Line.  Police say Vienna Line is governed by stop signs.

The driver of the motorcycle, 41-year-old John Masales of Malahide Township, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 37-year-old man from Malahide Rtownship, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries. He is listed in serious condition in hospital.

The 18-year-old woman driving the van and three teenage passengers were all taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

 

Police are still investigating.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
