Just after 11am on Tuesday, police were called by concerned citizens in the Kilworth area, who saw the emu walking near the road.
Officers were able to corral the animal and issued a news release asking for help in finding the owner.
Around 12:40, police announced the owner had been found.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
