Motorcyclist Killed In Elgin County Collision

A 29-year-old Aylmer man is dead after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck near the St. Thomas airport.

Elgin OPP say David Berg was killed in the Monday night crash at the intersection of Quaker Rd. and Talbot Line in Central Elgin.

The collision happened around 8pm. Police say a 2006 Dodge pickup was turning left onto Talbot Line from Quaker Rd. At the same time, a Ford Expedition was turning right onto Quaker Rd. from Talbot Line. The Ford was in the turning lane when the pickup pulled out into the path of an eastbound motorcycle driven by Berg.

St. Thomas Elgin paramedics rushed Berg to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The OPP are still investigating. They say at the time of the crash it was dark, but clear. Police say charges are pending.
