London Man Charged With Attempted Murder

A charge of attempted murder has been laid following a stabbing in northeast London.

London police were called to a home on Oakville Ave., near Huron St. around 8:30pm Wednesday after a woman was stabbed multiple times.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A 46-year-old London man was arrested shortly after the stabbing. He is charged with attempted murder, possession of a dangerous weapon, break and enter, and theft under $5,000.

Police say the incident was not a random act of violence and they will not be releasing the name of the man charged due to the nature of his relationship with the victim.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
