UPDATE: EB Hwy. 402 Still Closed After Fatal Crash

Middlesex OPP say the eastbound lanes of Hwy. 402 remain closed between Colonel Talbot Rd. and Hwy. 401 in London after a single-vehicle crash that killed a 28-year-old Brampton man early Monday morning. Police reopened one westbound lane just before 10am Tuesday.

Police say the collision occurred around 7:30am Monday just east of Wonderland Rd., when a fuel truck travelling eastbound went out of control. The truck collided with a median in the centre lane and overturned upon impact.

The driver, Jagjit Singh Deol of Brampton, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the truck had been carrying ethanol and diesel fuel. Both fuel tanks on the transport were ruptured, requiring a response from the London Fire Department hazardous goods team.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators are looking to speak with anyone who may have seen the truck prior to the collision.  Police can be contacted at 1-888-310-1122 or you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
