Police Saying Little About Death Investigation

Provincial police are staying tight-lipped about what they are calling a "multi-jurisdictional death investigation."

A release from the Western Region OPP on Friday afternoon says the investigation involves Woodstock police, London police, and the OPP.

"The investigation initially spearheaded by Woodstock City Police began on Thursday, September 29, 2016," the release says. But police are not saying anything more about the death investigation.

"We have more questions than answers," says Sgt. David Rektor.

Rektor says the release was issued as a matter of public safety. However, police say they have identified a suspect and don't believe there is any further risk to public safety.

The investigation is being led by Detective Inspector Rob Hagerman of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
