Man Killed In Train-Truck Crash

A man is dead after a pick-up truck and train collided just west of Thamesford.

Oxford OPP say the pick-up was stopped, facing south on the tracks on the 13th Line between Road 68 and Road 74 around 2am on Monday when it was hit by a westbound Canadian Pacific train.

The pickup ended up in the south ditch after being pushed approximately 100 yards by the train.

The male driver and lone occupant of the pick-up was pronounced dead at the scene. His name will not be released until family are notified. The four CP Rail employees on board the train were not hurt.

Police continue to investigate the collision. The 13th Line between Road 68 and Road 74 was closed for several hours.
