Charges Laid In SUV Crash, Foot Chase

Provincial police say charges have now been laid against two men in connection with a break and enter, vehicle crash, and foot chase with police near Dorchester.

A 52-year-old man and a 24-year-old man, both from London, were arrested after a foot chase along the Thames River near Dorchester Rd. on Monday.

The incident began when a home on Yorke Line in Malahide Township was broken into by two men around 8:40am. The pair took off in an SUV but police were hot on their trail. The SUV rear-ended another vehicle before crashing into a hydro pole on Dorchester Rd.

Two men ran from the vehicle but were located with the help of the OPP Canine unit.

Warren Brothers, 52, is charged with break and enter and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Brandon Dyck, 24, is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, flight from police, break and enter, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Police say the items stolen during the break and enter have been returned to the home owner.
