Londoner Wins $1-Million

A London man is $1-million richer after matching all seven numbers on his Encore lottery ticket.

Nizarali Pradhan won the money in the November 4 Lotto-Max draw.

"The day after the draw I was at the mall and I decided to check my Lotto Max ticket with Encore," said Nizarali. “While checking my Encore numbers I noticed the last two numbers matched up and I thought to myself, ‘Oh, I probably won $5.’”

After checking his numbers in a ticket scanner and having a store clerk validate his ticket, he realized he was a millionaire.

“I was calm but it was so wonderful. We live in an apartment. We raised our kids in an apartment. Now, after all these years, we are buying a home. Of course, we want to celebrate and share with our children and grandchildren. My wife and I were both born in Uganda and have not been back since we moved to Canada. It’s time to take a trip to our home land,” said Nizarali.
