Snow Squalls Possible This Weekend

It may have felt like spring or early fall on Friday, but the weekend is going to have a much more wintry look.

After the temperature surpassed 18 C in London on Friday, breaking a record for November 18 that was set in 1941, Environment Canada issued a snow squall watch advising of the possibility of several centimetres of snow on the weekend.

The forecasting agency says lake effect snow squalls are expected to develop as a cold front sweeps into the region on Saturday. It says snowsqualls will likely start forming on Saturday night and continue into Sunday.

While it's likely areas to the north will see more snow that London, Environment Canada says snowfall amounts for London-Middlesex of 5-10 cm are possible. Localized areas could see 15 cm by Sunday night, according to the statement.
