Victim In Fatal Crash Identified

London police have released the name of the victim in Thursday morning's fatal head-on crash in the north end.

Gloria Chivers, 60, of Thorndale was pronounced dead at the scene after her car was hit head-on by another vehicle at Sunningdale Rd. and Richmond St. The London Free Press reports she was a long-time carrier of the paper and was making her deliveries at the time of the crash.

Police also released the name of the man facing charges in connection with the collision.

Jinghao Zhou, 23, of London is charged with one count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death, driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in blood causing death, and one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.

He is to appear in court Friday.

London police are still investigating and are asking anyone with information to call them at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
