OPP Identify Victim Of Fatal Crash In Middlesex County

One person was killed and three others were seriously injured in a collision involving three vehicles Saturday afternoon northwest of London.

It happened a few minutes after 1pm, according to Ontario Provincial Police.  A GMC truck was traveling northbound on Vanneck Rd. when it crashed with a Dodge traveling eastbound at Egremont Dr.  The chain reaction then propelled the Dodge to strike a Honda that was traveling westbound on Egremont.

The driver of the Honda, who has been identified by the OPP as 81-year-old Marion Satchwill, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the Dodge, a 19-year-old West Elgin man, had to be extricated from the vehicle and taken to hospital where he is listed in fair condition.  Two passengers in the Dodge, a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl also suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and are currently listed in hospital in good condition.

There were three occupants of the GMC truck but they did not require medical treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
