UPDATE: Man Charged After Woman Stabbed In Leg

A 24-year-old man is facing charges after a woman was stabbed in London Tuesday afternoon.

The London Police Service says emergency crews were called to a residence in the area of Adelaide St. N near Central Ave. at around 4:15pm.

Officers discovered a 28-year-old woman at the scene who had suffered a stab wound to her thigh. She was was taken to hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries. She has since been discharged.

Police say the woman was involved in a verbal fight with a man prior to being stabbed. The same man is believed to have been assaulted another man before taking off from the scene.

Zachary Maidlow, 24, of London is now charged with assault with a weapon, two counts of assault and two counts of uttering death threats.

Police are reassuring the public this was not a random incident as the victims and accused are known to each other.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
