Reid To Chair TVDSB

The Thames Valley District School Board has elected a first-term trustee as chair.

Matt Reid, a London lawyer, served as vice-chair of the board over the past year. He has been a trustee for Wards two, three, four, five, and six since 2014.

“I look forward to working with our team of Trustees as we continue to make positive changes for our students,” said Reid. “Public education is a passion of mine and I must thank our exceptional teachers and staff for all of the hard work that they do.”

Reid has been involved with the board since he was in high school, serving as a student trustee. He was also named president of the Ontario Student Trustees Association in 2003-2004.

Middlesex County Trustee Arlene Morell has been elected as vice-chair.

Morell, also in the middle of her first-term with the board, previously founded and chaired the Thames Valley Parent Involvement Committee, and was the president of Thames Valley Council of Home and School Associations.

Reid and Morell will begin their new roles at the board's inaugural meeting December 13.
