Police say a young teen was not seriously injured after crashing his parents vehicle into a house early Monday morning.

Sarnia Police Constable John Sottosanti says the parents called police after hearing the vehicle leave around 2:30am. He says shortly after that, police were notified that a speeding vehicle in the area of Modeland Rd. and Cathcart Blvd. had raced across the front lawn of a residence and literally crashed through the home.

"The vehicle itself drove through the front brick wall of the residence, through the living room area and out the back of the residence on to the back patio," says Sottosanti.

The 16-year-old male driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Sottosanti says luckily no one else was hurt.

"There was nobody in the residence at the time and once the investigation is over, charges are pending," he says.

Modeland Rd. between Lakeshore and Blackwell roads was closed for about seven hours while police investigated.
