Vehicle Hit By Bullet On 401

Oxford OPP are investigating after a vehicle was hit by a stray bullet on Hwy. 401.

Police say it happened around 8:25am Wednesday as the vehicle was heading east between Sweaburg Rd. in Woodstock and the OnRoute Service Centre.

Officers were able to find a fragment of a slug in the trunk area of the vehicle. Fortunately, there were no injuries.

The Ministry of Natural Resources was called in to assist in the investigation, as the bullet may have come from the firearm of a hunter.

Police are asking any witnesses to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
