UPDATE: 18-Year-Old Dead In Middlesex Centre Crash

An 18-year-old man is dead and another person was injured following a two-vehicle collision in Middlesex Centre.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Friday around 4:30pm, a Toyota car travelling north on Vanneck Rd. turned sideways and collided with a southbound Dodge van on the railway overpass, south of Nairn Rd.

The male driver of the car, who has been identified as Jacob Black of Middlesex Centre, died in the crash.

The driver of the van, a 46-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and has since been released.

Vanneck Rd. was closed between Nairn Rd. and Glendon Dr. while officers were at the scene. The roadway was reopened around 11pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
