Residents Unaccounted For After Fire At Oneida Nation

Police are investigating after a house fire broke out at the Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Wednesday at around 11am, multiple fire services were called to the home in the 1200-block of Townline Rd., between Ballpark Rd. and Fairgrounds Rd.  The home was fully engulfed when fire crews arrived at the scene.

Police say the residents of the home area unaccounted for at this time.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown and a damage estimate has not been released.

The Office of the Fire Marshal Office has been called in to investigate.

Townline Rd. has been closed between Ballpark Rd. and Fairgrounds Rd. while investigators are at the scene.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
