Loose Truck Tires Hit Vehicles On Hwy. 401

Provincial police say charges are pending after wheels flew off of a tractor trailer on Hwy. 401 east of Woodstock.

The OPP were called to the westbound lanes near Oxford Rd. 29 in Blandford-Blenheim Township around 6:30pm on Wednesday, after two vehicles collided with the stray wheels.

Luckily, no one was injured. The Ministry of Transportation is assisting police with the investigation into the incident.

Police anticipate charges will be laid. They are reminding drivers to ensure wheels and tires are installed properly and to inspect wheel fasteners regularly to prevent future incidents like this from happening.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
