SIU Identifies Man Shot By Police

Ontario's Special Investigations Unit has identified the 35-year-old male who was shot by London police.

The SIU stated in a press release Monday afternoon, that the 35-year-old male has been identified as Samuel Maloney.

Maloney had died after being shot on December 23. The incident occurred after police had been called about a confrontation at a home on Duchess Ave. near Edward St. in the Old South area.

The investigation is ongoing.

The SIU says so far three subject officers and 18 witness officers have been designated.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
