One Injured In Apartment Fire

London fire officials believe an electrical problem may have sparked an apartment fire that injured one person.

Firefighters were called to an apartment building at 374 Simcoe St. just before 8am on Wednesday. Crews arrived to find thick black smoke billowing out of a third floor unit.

The blaze, which was contained to a single unit, was quickly extinguished by firefighters.

A tenant inside the apartment was treated for minor burns to his right hand.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but at this point it appears an electrical issue may have been a factor.

Damage is estimated at $60,000.
