Crash Closes Hwy. 401 Near Woodstock

Provincial police had to close Hwy. 401 in both directions after a crash on Wednesday night.

According to police, a transport truck collided with another vehicle in the westbound lanes just west of Sweaburg Rd. around 10:35pm. The truck then hit the median and debris from the crash spread across both the eastbound and westbound lanes.

Six vehicles then hit the debris.

Two drivers were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police later re-opened the westbound lanes of the highway. The eastbound lanes re-opened around 5am Thursday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
