Londoner $100K Richer

A 62-year-old London mechanic is considering a trip to Las Vegas following a substantial lottery win.

Michael Walls won $100,000 with Encore in the January 13 Lotto Max draw.

Walls, who purchased the winning ticket at the International News on Wellington Rd., said he found out about his windfall when his wife checked the ticket.

“When she saw the prize amount for the ticket she called me right away," said Walls. "The first thing she said was, ‘guess what, your ticket is worth $100,000.’ I said, ‘no way, are you sure?’ She replied, ‘yes, I checked twice and you won big.’”

Walls plans to use some of the money to travel to Las Vegas. The rest will be put into his retirement fund.

"It’s nice to know our future will be taken care of. Winning the lottery has been fantastic. It has been a huge relief knowing that my retirement fund will be bumped up," said Walls.
