Knights Top Firebirds In Shootout

The London Knights scored a 4-3 shootout win over the Flint Firebirds at the Dort Federal Event Center on Wednesday.

The Firebirds drew first blood with a goal 6:37 into the first period, and Janne Kuokkanen scored for London after 15 minutes to tie the game. However, Flint scored once more before the end of the first and again early in the second to take a 3-1 lead.

The Knights were able to make a comeback with Adrian Carbonara scoring 17:43 into the third, and Mitchell Stephens tying the game and forcing overtime with a goal 16 minutes into the final frame.

After no scoring in extra time, Stephens scored the only goal of the shootout against Flint goalie Garrett Forrest.

Despite the loss, Flint outshot London 46-40.

The Knights will travel to Kitchener on Friday to face off against the Rangers at 7pm.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
