Two Men Charged In Pond Mills Pharmacy Robbery

Two men from Muncey are facing more than a dozen charges each in connection with an armed robbery at a Pond Mills area drug store.

London police say on Wednesday around 8pm, two masked men, armed with a firearm, walked into the Shoppers Drug Mart at 1155 Commissioners Rd. E and demanded prescription medication. The pair then took off with an undisclosed amount of prescription drugs in a vehicle police allege was stolen.

No one at the pharmacy was injured during the robbery.

Following a brief police chase, officers arrested two men on Commissioners Rd. Police also found an undisclosed quantity of drugs and weapons while investigating.

A 38-year-old man and a 34-year-old man, both from Muncey, are charged with two counts of armed robbery, possession for the purpose of trafficking, using a firearm during the commission of an indictable offence, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence.

In addition to those charges the 38-year-old is charged with three counts of driving while disqualified, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, pointing a firearm, flight from police, and breach of probation. The 34-year-old is also charged with two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon and four counts of failing to comply with recognizance.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
