401 Rollover Leaves Woman In Critical Condition

A 28-year-old London woman is fighting for her life after a single-vehicle rollover crash on Hwy. 401.

Middlesex OPP say a car was heading westbound on the highway near Veteran's Memorial Pkwy. when it left the roadway just after 9:50pm on Sunday. The car rolled and ended up on its roof in a water filled culvert.

The female driver was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries. As of Monday morning, she was listed in critical condition.

Police closed the westbound lanes between Westchester Bourne and Highbury Ave. while they investigated. All lanes were reopened around 3am.

It is unclear if weather was a factor in the crash. However, roads were slick for much of the day as a mix of freezing rain and flurries fell across the region.

The investigation is ongoing.
