Tracks In Snow Lead Police To Alleged Beer Thieves

Old man winter helped provincial police make an arrest in a beer heist north of Exeter.

Huron OPP were called to a home on Regina Rd. in Vanastra around 7am on Sunday, after a resident heard beeping coming from his garage and spotted a group of people running from his backyard. A quick check of the garage found someone had broken in and taken roughly two dozen bottles of beer.

Officers investigating the incident spotted fresh tracks in the snow, which they say led them to a nearby home where an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were arrested.

The pair are charged with break and enter and theft under $5,000.
