Knights Stop Kingston 4-1

Victor Mete had a goal and an assist in the London Knights' 4-1 win over the Frontenacs in Kingston Sunday afternoon.

With the win, the playoff-bound Knights maintain second place in the OHL Midwest Division with 81 points, along with a tie for second place in the Western Conference with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

London scored two goals in the first period and held onto the 2-0 lead at the first intermission.  Cliff Pu opened the scoring with his 31st goal of the year, while Mete scored his goal on a penalty shot.

Brandon Crawley got the Knights some insurance and a 3-0 lead with the lone goal in the second period.

Kingston's Ryan Cranford got the Frontenacs on the board in the third period, but Janne Kuokkanen answered back a short time later to maintain the three-goal margin for London.

Jordan Kooy stopped all but one of Kingston's 33 shots in goal for the Knights.  Jeremy Helvig had 32 saves of his own for the Frontenacs.

The Knights continue their eastern Ontario swing Monday when they play a Family Day matinee against the Ottawa 67s.
