Lightning Beats Halifax 123-108

Royce White jammed home 26 points and had 14 rebounds as the London Lightning beat the Halifax Hurricanes 123-108 at Budweiser Gardens Monday.

It was the 11th win in a row for the Lightning, played before over eight thousand people in a special Family Day matinee and extending their record to 15-3.

Joel Friesen added 20 points for London and Julian Boyd 19, both from the bench.

Billy White led the Hurricanes with 23 points, and Tyrone Watson contributed 21, while C.J. Washington and Antoine Mason sank 17 apiece.  Renaldo Dixon led the Hurricanes in defence with eight rebounds.

The Lightning got themselves off to a comfortable 12-point lead after the first quarter, then led at halftime 61-42.  That cushion was enough to overcome close play from Halifax in the third and being outscored by the Hurricanes in the fourth quarter.  London scored 30 points off turnovers, compared to Halifax's 19.

The Lightning travel to Halifax Thursday night to complete the home-and-away series.
