Man Charged In East London Pharmacy Robbery

Charges have been laid against a 23-year-old man following a pharmacy robbery in east London.

London police say a man walked into the drug store at 1299 Oxford St., near Highbury Ave. and demanded prescription medication from the pharmacist around noon on Saturday.

The man then took off with an undisclosed amount of prescription drugs.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

Officers called to the scene were initially unable to find a suspect but did identify one through further investigation.

A 23-year-old London man was arrested and is charged with robbery, disguising his face during the commission of an offence, and breach of probation.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
