Hedley, Barenaked Ladies Headline Fanshawe Anniversary Bash

Fanshawe College will mark its 50th anniversary with a rock show featuring two Canadian bands.

The Barenaked Ladies and Hedley will take the stage at Budweiser Gardens on September 9 for Fanshawe at 50: Live in Concert. Brave Shores has also been named the opening act for the evening.

The college announced the marquee celebration for students, staff, alumni, and retirees on Thursday.

“This concert will represent more than just the biggest event in College history,” said Peter Devlin, Fanshawe president. “It will be an exciting celebration befitting an institution that prides itself on being innovative.”

Hedley, a pop-rock group from British Columbia has won multiple MMVA and JUNO awards, including the 2012 Pop Album of the Year. While eight-time Juno winner, the Barenaked Ladies, have a career that has spanned over two decades.

The concert is an invitation -only event with Fanshawe students, staff, alumni, and retirees able to purchase tickets beginning March 10 through Budweiser Gardens’ online box office. Tickets range in price from $37.50 to $50.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
