Feds Invest $5M In Two Tillsonburg Plants

More than 100 new jobs are being added to two Tillsonburg-area manufacturing plants following a $5.25-million cash injection from the federal government.

London North Centre MP Peter Fragiskatos announced the money for Marwood Metal Fabrication Limited and Otter Valley Foods Inc. on Wednesday.

"Today's announcement will support two local companies in their efforts to modernize operations and increase productivity while creating jobs and economic growth in southern Ontario," said Fragiskatos.

Marwood Metal, an award-winning metal stamping and assembly company which supplies the auto sector, will receive up to $4.27-million. It will use the cash to expand its facility, invest in new advanced hot stamping and press technologies, and create 70 full-time jobs.

Food manufacturer Otter Valley is getting $975,000 to add a new production line and install a second freezer system. The company anticipates 40 full-time jobs will be added as a result of this project.
