TVDSB Donates Over $300K To United Way

United Way agencies in Elgin-St. Thomas, London-Middlesex and Oxford are getting a boost of over $300,000 thanks to the Thames Valley District School Board.

The school board presented a cheque of $311,685 to United Way officials at a special presentation Tuesday night during the TVDSB board meeting.

Kelly Gilson, United Way of Oxford executive director, and Valerie Nielson, associate director of learning support services at TVDSB, were on hand for the cheque presentation. Nielson served as the United Way cabinet chair for the campaign.

The annual donation is just shy of last year's $318,212 cheque, which was presented back in March 2016

Over the past ten years, donations to the United Way from students and staff at the TVDSB have surpassed $3-million.
