Airshow London Lands Top Fighter Jet

The list of attractions at Airshow London just got bigger.

Organizers announced Friday that they have added the F-35A fighter jet to the list of planes that will appear at this year's show. The F-35A is currently used by the US Air Force, Marine Corps, and will be added to the arsenal of the US Navy.

According to Airshow organizers, its appearance in London will be one of only two appearances in Canada this year.

“I started getting calls, text messages and emails almost immediately after the schedule was confirmed and they haven’t stopped," said Airshow London Executive Director Dave De Kelver. "London is one of two Canadian appearances scheduled for this amazing aircraft and the only opportunity for show goers this side of the Rockies to get a look at it. This is a jet fighter seldom seen by the public and only shared with a privileged few. We are thrilled to have been chosen as its showcase.”

Also appearing at the September 22-24 Airshow will be the Canadian Forces Snowbirds Demonstration Team and the CF-18 Hornet Demonstration Team.
