Four Charged After Gun Pointed At Man

Four people are facing charges after a gun was pointed at a man in Woodstock.

The Woodstock Police Service says on Friday around 9pm, the man flagged down a uniform officer in the area of Clarke St. and Nellis St., after the handgun was reportedly pointed at him.

The man was not injured and the person who pointed the gun had already fled the area in a vehicle. Police say the incident was the result of an ongoing dispute between those involved.

Officers were able to quickly located the vehicle and four people were arrested. Police also located and seized a replica handgun, a set of brass knuckles and a baseball bat.

As a result, a 27-year-old Brantford man has been charged with pointing a firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon, and resisting arrest. An 18-year-old Woodstock woman and a 40-year-old Southwest Oxford woman were also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.

As well, a 30-year-old man from Southwest Oxford is charged with obstructing police, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order. The man was also turned over to the Hamilton Police Service on an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
