Knights Beat Spitfires 2-1 To Force Game 6

The London Knights staved off elimination with a 2-1 victory over the Windsor Spitfires in Game 5 of Friday.

Robert Thomas gave London a 1-0 lead in the first period with a goal 7:05 into the first period.

Windsor came back in the second with Jeremy Bracco scoring a goal 21 seconds into the frame, but Mitchell Stephens scored to allow the Knights to retake the lead before the third.

London was able to hold back the Spitfires in a scoreless final 20 minutes to ensure their win.

Knights goalie Tyler Parsons made 25 saves out of 26 shots on net, while Windsor goaltender Michael DiPietro made 27 saves out of 29 shots on net

Windsor leads the best-of-seven series 3-2.

The Spitfires and the Knights are back on the ice on Sunday for Game 6. The puck drops at 2pm in Windsor.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
