Truck Driver Killed In Accident At Exeter Area Grain Elevator

Huron OPP and the Ministry of Labour are investigating an accident that took the life of a truck driver at a grain elevator near Exeter.

Police, paramedics and South Huron firefighters responded to a 9-1-1 call on Kirkton Rd. at around 9:15am Monday morning, and located the unresponsive man.

According to police, the truck driver had finished dropping off his load, cleared the weigh station, and stopped to check on the condition of his trailer.    He was later found pinned beneath one of the tractor trailer tires.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews.    His identity is being withheld until next of kin has been notified.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday morning.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
