Sexual Assault Suspect Surrenders

A man wanted in connection with a sexual assault investigation in Simcoe has turned himself in.

Norfolk OPP say the man surrendered the same day surveillance photos were released to the media.

On April 4, police were called to The Shire Restaurant on Queensway West in Simcoe after a man approached a 2-year-old child and two teens, ages 13 and 16, who were sitting at a table. According to police, the man picked up the toddler, tried to kiss the 13-year-old, and hugged the 16-year-old. Police also allege that when the children’s 41-year-old mother returned to the table, the man sexually assaulted her before leaving the restaurant.

On Tuesday, police announced that Tyler Chambers, 28, of Norfolk County is charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual interference with a person under 16 years of age.
