Charges Laid In Drug Bust

St. Thomas police have seized $2,000 worth of drugs during an investigation into the trafficking of controlled substances.

Police say on April 13, a vehicle was stopped near the city limits in the north end, due to an investigation into local residents. Two people were arrested for possession with the purpose of trafficking.

During a search, police found $180 and 28 grams of cocaine.

The investigation then lead to a third arrest. Police say the third person was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking around 10:45pm, on South Edgeware Rd.

Police then obtained a warrant to search a residence in the city's north end.

The search lead to the seizure of several prohibited knives, scales, and dime bags.

Police say the total amount of drugs seized is worth approximately $2,000.

One person has been released unconditionally. Meanwhile the second person has been charged with breaching probation and possession of a prohibited weapon; and the third person has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
