Careless Driving Charge Laid In Hwy. 3 Crash

An Aylmer man is facing charges following a two-vehicle crash east of St. Thomas that sent a man to hospital.

Elgin OPP say a westbound Jeep crossed over the centre line and struck an eastbound trailer being hauled by a pickup truck on Hwy. 3, west of Yarmouth Center Rd. around 9:15am on Tuesday.

One man was hurt in the crash. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 27-year-old Aylmer man is charged with careless driving.

A section of Hwy. 3 was briefly closed as police investigated the cause of the crash.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
