Severe Thunderstorms Possible

Parts of southwestern Ontario could be in for some wild weather late Thursday.

Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch Thursday morning for western Middlesex, Strathroy, Komoka, Rodney, Shedden, and western Elgin County.

The national weather agency says dangerous thunderstorms could develop over the areas in the afternoon and evening and bring damaging wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rain.

Should storms move into the area, the Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends anyone who is outdoors take immediate cover.

The unstable weather will move out of the region early Friday morning.
