Charges Laid In Apartment Fire

A fire that sent three civilians and a firefighter to hospital has resulted in arson charges.

On March 12, fire crews were called to 85 Walnut St., where fire had broken out in an apartment. Three residents and a firefighter were taken to hospital. One of the residents suffered critical injuries. All have since been released from hospital.

Damage from the fire was estimated at $85,000.

An investigation by London police and the Ontario Fire Marshal's office has led to the arrest of 65-year-old Brendan Finnerty.

He is charged with arson with disregard for human life and arson causing property damage.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
