Standoff Leads To Charges

A nine-hour standoff in Dutton has led to charges against a 41-year-old man.

Elgin OPP were called to a domestic incident at a home on Marsh Line around 8:30pm Thursday.

A man barricaded himself inside the home. OPP negotiators managed to convince him to surrender around 5:30am Friday.

The incident ended peacefully and the man was taken into custody. Police say he faces several charges related to the incident.

"The OPP would like to thank area citizens for their patience and cooperation during this incident," said Detachment Commander Inspector B. Fishleigh.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
